The bone doctor says it's the best kind of break you can have. But it's still a break. I never thought a cast would feel so liberating; I can bend my elbow now. Here's a picture taken by the famous photojournalist Capria, entitled Black Cast and Metal Love-1/24/07:
Here is an interesting set of articles on education in These United States. The first two make a certain degree of sense, but the third takes that, unfortunately, all too predictable jump into aristocratic thinking. Such a position reinforces what I would loosely call alienation.
My good friends Jentery & Brookyn rented a sweet cabin for the long weekend just off of Mt. Baker. It was most excellent. Except for the fact that I hurt my wrist on my third snowboard run and was out for the rest of the day. Not cool. And it looks like I might be out for a while--the ER diagnosed it as a hairline fracture, but this needs to be confirmed. Here are images from the weekend (they may show up a bit weird, since I'm still learning how to manage the files in my camera).

I just found this out. First, click here to learn the name of the chair of my PhD committee.
Now click here and read the blurb for David Carradine.
That's right.
Back for round 2007. Hope you all had a fine holiday. Ours was much fun.
We just got a digital camera with previously referenced gift card prize, so pictures of various sundries are forthcoming.
In the meantime, here is an enjoyable little piece on free will, just in time for those resolutions.
